The art of a fairy tale at home

I know it can be hard to come up with new date ideas, especially when you and your sweetie are busy with work, chores, kids (or fur kids!), and everything in between. While dinner and a movie can be a fun date, if you want a relaxing and unique date with your love in the comfort of your home, a painting date is for you!

The best part about all of this is that even though we’ve included a bunch of ideas for making everything as cute and decorated as possible, you can literally sit at your dining table in your pajamas with pizza, and you’ll still have the ‘feel just as special.

Bring a special touch to your date with DIY decorations, like this one paper heart crown and these absolutely adorable felt heart garlands, which I can’t wait to make for my own Valentine’s Day date with my husband!

​If you’re looking to create something a little simpler, arrange a bouquet (bonus points if you put fairy lights in the flowers; it’s beautiful!), get some pretty heart-shaped balloons, candles (we have these paste powered candles). those), and silk rose petals. You’ll also want to get a tablecloth to protect your table surface from paint; THE the one I had comes from Target!

Hearts have my heart every time I prepare food for my partner; that’s why I will definitely make one of these recipes for my love this Valentine’s Day. My favorite thing about these three ideas is that cleanup is so easy with all of them! You only need a baking sheet and a cutting board if you add additional toppings on your personal pizzas. For the charcuterie board, simply clean the board when you are finished. And for Barilla heart-shaped pasta, all you need is a pan and a cutting board. ​I’m all for simple recipes, but these Valentine’s Day Cream Puffs are too good not to try, and even though they’re a little more involved, they’re totally worth it! I received a boxed mix, made the dough and separated the dough into two balls to make two shades of pink with food coloring. Once my colors were mixed, I tore each ball into small pieces. I scattered them on my counter to spread out, cut them out with my favorite heart cookie cutters, and drizzled with frosting and sprinkles after baking!

We opted for simple chardonnay from the grocery store for this post, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get fancy!
